PTRest

From Restaurant 2011.3.0 onward, the system includes a file called PTRest_WebSetup.exe. You can download it from the Partners section of www.posandtouch.net.

The app lets guests and staff check each table’s open tab from any device with a browser: tablets, iPad, Android, Samsung Galaxy, kiosks, smartphones, or a PC. The web app is hosted on an IIS server and connects to the Restaurant database over Wi-Fi or a wired connection. This first version only reads open tabs; later versions will support dispatcher operations.

General requirements

• Any Windows version with Internet Information Services 5.1 or later enabled. You can enable it from Control Panel → Programs and Features → Turn Windows features on or off, selecting all components.
• .NET Framework 4.0. If it is not installed, the PTRest_Web Setup installer will try to download it automatically.
• Restaurant 2011.3.0 or later.
• A licensed Restaurant installation on the machine where the web app will run, because that license is used to license the new app.
• After installation, request the app license.
• Access credentials are the ones defined in Restaurant BackOffice under General Parameters → Employee File.
